David Strouss heads Thornton Law Firm’s birth defect litigation group. He has devoted the majority of his legal career to representing families of children born with catastrophic birth defects from toxic exposures. The parents of the children he represents were exposed to glycol ethers in semiconductor “clean rooms”, pesticides in agriculture, and a variety of chemicals used in manufacturing.

David Bricker Now Of Counsel in Thornton Law Firm’s New California Office
Thornton Law Firm has strengthened its nationally-known toxic exposure and birth defects practice with the addition of trial lawyer David Bricker, who joins the firm as of counsel. He was previously a partner with the Los Angeles office of Waters & Kraus, where he chaired their Birth Injury practice.

Johnson & Johnson Knew of Asbestos Risk in Talc For Over Forty Years
Johnson & Johnson was alerted to the risk of asbestos contamination of its talc in a 1973 company report about J&J’s Windsor Materials talc mine in Vermont. The document was recently produced in a deposition of Johnson & Johnson’s chief medical officer, Joanne Waldstreicher, and reported by Bloomberg.
Mesothelioma Victim Receives Record Asbestos Verdict in New England
A Superior Court jury in Boston returned a verdict of $7.55 million dollars against New England Insulation, a Canton company who distributed and installed asbestos insulation material until the early 1970’s. Gerald Sylvestre, a former worker in the Public Service of New Hampshire Merrimack Power Station in Bow NH, developed pleural mesothelioma, an asbestos-caused cancer, in 2015 and is currently undergoing treatment.

Johnson & Johnson’s Ethicon subsidiary was ordered to pay plaintiff Ella Ebaugh $57 million dollars for injuries she suffered from their transvaginal mesh implants. The verdict, rendered in Philadelphia Common Pleas Court, was the largest verdict in the Philadelphia mass tort litigation.
