Thornton Law Firm, LLP are pleased to announce that associate Christian Uehlein has been named a partner in the firm.
Christian focuses his work at Thornton Law Firm on representing clients in two different areas of the law: personal injuries resulting from toxic exposures, and class action litigation against insurance companies. In the toxic tort field he represents victims of exposure to asbestos and children with birth defects resulting from chemical exposures. In the insurance field he represents small to medium sized businesses in class action lawsuits against workers compensation insurance companies. While passionate about continuing to advance his litigation expertise, Christian finds that far and away the most rewarding part of his work is his daily interaction with his clients, whether injured workers or aggrieved business owners. He is a member of the American Association of Justice, and believes strongly in that organization’s commitment to ensuring American’s access to the civil justice system. He is also a member of Public Justice, and has been selected to The National Trial Lawyers “Top 39 under 39” from 2012 to present.
Christian first joined the firm as a law clerk in the summer of 2005. He then returned to New England School of Law for his third and final year of law school during which he worked for the Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS) assisting attorneys providing legal defense to disadvantaged clients in Boston area courts. He found many similarities in his work at CPCS with his work at Thornton Law Firm, particularly the direct client interaction and the satisfaction derived from providing legal counsel to those who are most in need. He graduated from New England School of law on the Dean’s List in May of 2006 and started working as an associate at the firm that fall.
Christian was born in Newton, Massachusetts in December of 1979. He went to high school at Buckingham Browne & Nichols in Cambridge and attended Colorado College in Colorado Springs Colorado where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2002. Christian has always been passionate about outdoor activities, and while at school in Colorado he made the most of his access to great skiing, hiking and mountaineering. While at Colorado College he met his wife, Elaine. They lived together in Utah, working as ski instructors at Snowbird Mountain, and then in Bozeman, Montana before returning the Boston area. They now live in Cambridge with their daughter Elise and dog Rustler.
