Lane T. Dubreuil is Thornton Law Firm’s newest associate. Lane will represent plaintiffs in securities class actions, as well as victims of mesothelioma and asbestos exposure. He is admitted in both the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Lane was sworn in by the federal court on Zoom, making him the first lawyer in the firm to have a virtual swearing-in ceremony.
A Sunapee, New Hampshire native, Lane is a graduate of Suffolk University where his major was political science. During his time in college Lane was the captain of the school’s mock trial team, accompanying his team to national competitions conducted by the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA) after placing amongst the top teams in the Boston area in the Boston Regional Tournament. He also did an internship with the Attorney General’s Office in the Business Technology and Economic Development division during his time at Suffolk.
Before attending law school Lane spent 2 years as a paralegal at Robinson+Cole in Boston, where his work included assistance in corporate financial transactions and development of low-income housing. Lane then attended Northeastern University School of Law, graduating with his J.D. in 2020. Northeastern Law uses the same co-op program as the rest of the university, so Lane worked at four different legal co-ops as part of his degree program. Lane has always been interested in complex litigation. As an intern in law school, he worked on a highly publicized international securities fraud case which sparked his interest in the field. Additionally, Lane interned for the U.S. Attorney Office’s Civil Division working in the Affirmative Civil Enforcement unit, which brought actions targeting fraudulent reception of government funds. Before graduating Lane spent time as a law clerk at Thornton Law Firm, working on securities litigation, False Claims Act matters, appellate litigation, and asbestos cases. He is excited to return to Thornton Law Firm as an associate, and we look forward to working with him.
