Thornton Law Firm is no longer accepting new Xarelto cases.

Patients taking the blood thinning medication Xarelto to prevent blood clots and strokes in patients with irregular heart rhythms have continued to experience uncontrollable bleeding and other serious side effects. Thornton Law Firm is currently filing claims on behalf of patients who have developed gastrointestinal bleeding, rectal bleeding, decreased hemoglobin levels, stroke, or
who have died while taking Xarelto. If you or a loved one have been injured by Xarelto, contact us for a free case evaluation by calling our toll-free number 888-341-1405, or by telling us your story here.
With more and more Xarelto lawsuits being filed in federal courts around the country, the federal Panel on MultiDistrict Litigation has consolidated all Xarelto cases in the Eastern District of Louisiana under the supervision of the Honorable Eldon Fallon. While only a few hundred lawsuits have been filed to date, it is expected that the number will continue to grow. There is no medical way (also known as a reversal agent) to stop the bleeding caused by Xarelto, so when internal bleeding does occur it can lead to hospitalization and death.
Xarelto was first sold in November 2011 and was marketed as an alternative to Coumadin (warfarin), the traditional blood thinner prescribed to prevent clots and strokes. It came on the market about one year after Pradaxa, another Coumadin alternative that has also caused serious side effects. Xarelto was seen as an improvement over Coumadin because as approved, it does not require daily blood testing. All blood thinners carry the risk of causing bleeding events. But unlike Coumadin, which has an antidote (vitamin k) which stops bleeding, there is no treatment currently approved to stop bleeding caused by Xarelto.
Thornton Law Firm is currently filing Xarelto claims against the manufacturer, Bayer HealthCare AG, and U.S. distributor Janssen Pharmaceuticals Inc., a division of Johnson & Johnson, on behalf of patients who have suffered severe bleeding, uncontrolled bleeding, decreased hemoglobin levels requiring blood transfusions, strokes, or death. If you or a loved one has suffered a severe bleeding event after taking Xarelto, contact one of our Boston Xarelto attorneys today by calling 888-341-1405 or by telling us your story here. The consultation is free and confidential. Like all legal claims, Xarelto claims are subject to short, strictly enforced legal time limits, so do not delay seeking legal advice.
